What is the definition of a champion? A champion is a person who advocates on the behalf of others. They are dedicated, consistent, determined, and optimistic. A TRUE Champion goes above and beyond even through adversity. They find yes. They go the extra mile for their patients, their teammates, and their neighbor. A True Champion shows initiative, integrity, accountability and reliability. As True Health celebrates its 40th anniversary, they would like to recognize their True Champions.
Nurez Madhany is a Primary Care Health Systems Manager for the American Cancer Society. He is responsible for working with primary care physicians to increase early detection rates through cancer screenings. Nurez holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy and a Masters of Public Health from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.
For over 20 years, Nurez worked in the private sector but decided to switch careers and enter public health as a way to influence large groups of people through small changes. Nurez has been an advocate for True Health and was instrumental in the organization receiving grant funds from the American Cancer Society’s NFL Crucial Catch grant and the Colorectal Cancer Partnership Award for the last two years. In his spare time, Nurez enjoys kickboxing, reading, attending concerts, spending time with his family, and volunteering.
When asked what makes him passionate about his work, Nurez said: “The fact that I have the honor and opportunity to wake up every day and work on projects, manage grants, and work with fantastic partners, like True Health, excites me beyond words.”
True Health is honored to name Mr. Nurez Madhany the 2017 Community Champion.
